Scandi rustic 70s kitchen

Falmouth

This 70s house had so much scandi potential , but all the rooms were small and closed in ,removed from the rest of the house, including the kitchen. So it was important to connect it to the garden at the very least and maximse the light as much as possible. A wall at one end was removed and a large french door added , a working galley style kitchen was designed to blend into a flexible dining social area, with sunshine. flooding through at both ends of the day.

Upcycled touches include teak reclaimed school book cases ( hung ceiling height to maximise the storage) odd mahogany doors with utilitarian hardwear add a personal quirkyness to the clean white space. . A Lime-washed reclaimed wood floor counters the utility with rustic warmth and waxy tactility. Finally the Stainless steel worktops complete the look for clean practicality ,and bonus bounce of light reflection around the whole room.
